Structured Wiring
Structured wiring is the backbone of any modern home.
This process of 'future-proofing' is the foundation for
delivering a variety of signals throughout the structure.
With structured wiring, all television, phone, security and
data cables terminate at one central location. And
using only high performance wire, problems with noise and
interference are eliminated (i.e., poor television
picture due to neighbors security system).
By having all cables terminate at a central location,
future modifications are made easier. Structured
wiring when installed by a qualified installer, allows the
homeowner to send signals that used to be confined to one
room throughout the entire house. With structured
wiring, a VCR or DVD player can be shared by every
television. Similarly, a CD jukebox could be
controlled and accessed everywhere. It also
allows for high-speed computer networks, sharing printers,
files, scanners, etc. And don't forget a multi-line
phone system that has extensions, intercoms, paging and door
phones. It can even open electric gates and doors.
A properly wired home is essential for today's lifestyle,
and adds value and enjoyment for years to come.

The installation of a structured wiring system is not as
simple as just pulling the proper wires. To get the
full benefit from the wiring there are strict guidelines
that need to be followed. If these are not adhered to,
the benefits of better wiring are lost and the customer
gets less return on their investment.
The cost of installing a structured wiring system depends
on the size of the home being built. Average cost
varies on floor space and includes full activation of the
system upon completion and service contracts are available.
When looking at costs, you need to consider the costs of
different contractors installing individual systems, phone,
cable, computer, audio and compare it to one contractor for
all things having to do with wires. |
